       Part of a three person team that created the App to help students reduce their stress. State-            wide competition.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

 

2015 summer               Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence                Augusta, ME

  • Built an external website and an intranet to organize the work of all anti-domestic violence agencies in Maine. Also built a searchable donor database and provided general IT assistance.

  • Discovered my computer skills can enrich a social service organization.

 

2016 summer               Katahdin Woods and Waters Expedition               Maine woods

  • One of nine Maine students chosen for a free interdisciplinary experience living in the Maine woods owned by Burt’s Bees Founder, Roxanne Quimby. Interviewed proponents and opponents of the land becoming a national monument. Presented talks to county commissioners and appeared on the television show “The Mayor’s Desk” regarding my observations and conclusions.

 

2016 summer               Camp Postcard                                                          Poland, ME

  • Volunteer counselor at free camp for at-risk Maine children, in charge of ten campers. Led campers on canoe trips, swimming, arts and crafts, and capture the flag.

 

2014-2016                   Sexual Assault Crisis and Support Center            Waterville, ME

  • Ran the One in Five, 5k to raise awareness about sexual assault. Silent no more!

  • Event moderator in 2016. Interviewed for local television.

  • Fed Thanksgiving Dinner to homeless people living in the Capital Area.

  • Meditated in silence for one week for seven hours a day followed by Dharma talks in the evening.

  • Growing up in Maine, I began skiing at age 5.
